Honoring Our Veterans!

AES welcomed and celebrated our Veterans on Wednesday morning during an outdoor Veterans Day Assembly that featured each of our grade levels. Twenty-one Veterans were in attendance, and they were treated to patriotic songs, poetry, essays, cards and flowers. The AES PTA provided refreshments for our Veterans and their families as they all enjoyed a nice reception after the ceremony. Special thanks to our Veterans Day Committee consisting of Lisa Hopkins, Julie Gourdet, Amanda Beloin, Robin Horn, April Lionberger and Jaime Webber.

From the Nurse’s Office

Dear Families,

The Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS) is an appointment scheduling system provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The following link provides information regarding Covid 19 Vaccination sign-ups and clinics:

Signing up for VAMS is not required, however, signing up allows you to see all of the scheduled clinics being held. This would prevent you from having to call around to find a clinic.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call.

Karen Zito, RN

What’s Happening in Art?

In Pk, students have created dot collages and line and shape collages based on the artist Kandinsky. Corn cob collages were created using paint dots like the artist Seurat. Students are currently working on prints or copies of leaves that will be used to create a leaf person.

Artsonia Portfolio

Students in grades K-6 have online art portfolios using the website Artsonia. Artsonia is the world’s largest student online art museum. Parents and family members can view student art galleries online from this year and prior years, leave comments, and order keepsakes featuring the art such as: masks, t-shirts, magnets, and mugs through Artsonia’s gift shop. These make great gifts! The school will receive a portion of the proceeds from any keepsakes ordered. New works of art will be added periodically throughout the year. Please note that the lower grades will have more pieces completed and uploaded to Artsonia than the upper grades.

Parent permission slips with student screen names and parents codes for all kindergarten students and students who have not yet logged in were sent home. If you need any information please contact Mrs. Waine. We hope that you will join and enjoy viewing your child’s art.
