Crazy Hair/Crazy Hat Day

The School Readiness Council is seeking preschool parent representatives.  This organization oversees and makes decisions regarding our Andover Elementary School Early Learning Center.  If you are interested in joining us once a month, 3:15-4:00, please inform your child's teacher or contact our school principal, Mr. John Briody.

Andover Elementary School is now using Google Mail.

Please make note of my new email address.

AES Spirit Days

*Please read with your child every day.

*Have discussions with your child about what happens at school.

*Talk with (not just to) your child - encourage lots of descriptive language!

*Have your child practice putting on/taking off clothing independently.  It's a great time to start practicing with that outdoor winter snow gear.

*Practice name writing.  Try using different materials - salt on a cookie tray, ketchup inside of a zipper storage bag, or shaving cream on the shower walls while taking a bath!

Please read this October 2015 article on the increase of fine motor difficulties in young children.  There are some great home activities to help build your preschoolers fine motor skills.

 Loose Parts Play

What exactly are "loose parts" and how do preschoolers play with them?  See how these collections of items can help your children with their creativity, spatial awareness, fine motor and cognitive skills.

Rest blankets should be returned to school at the beginning of each week.

Please remember to return library books to school each week - by Thursday.

Send an extra change of clothes to school with your child.
